Kalam Festival – Simbai (September 2025)

Early after breakfast, we will have you transferred from Goroka, you will also have the Chance to see the Simbu Cultures on you way to Mt Hagen as early as 8:00 am – 8:30 am in the morning.

Have a brief stop at Daulo Pass Summitt Market continue to Simbu Valley. After this tour, In the morning, you will be tranfered early to NINTUL Village for the Visit of the Tabare Tribes and their Men’s Haus ( HAUSMAN & Meet the Chief ) and its importance in the Tribal Clans and Communities. You will also have the change to visit the Widows Haus just at the back of the Men’s House and the surviving Widow. 

Before lunch, we will drive into the Chanty town, Kundiawa and have lunch at Mt Wilheam Hotel, refresh and we will drive furrter to Mindima Village for the SKELETON TRIBES ( OMO MASALAI) and you will have your  tour and we will continue on the Vaghy Valley to the Central Highlands of the PNG.

After noon brief stop at Awi Tourism Centre for a gentle walk around and we will finally drive into Mt Hagen, the Central of Highlands Region. Mc Royal Hotel ( BLD)

Early after Breakfast, you will be transferred from the lodge to the Airport for the MAF Charter flight on G8 aircraft that will carry 9 passengers only. ( Charter flight only)

You will land in Simbai at 0930  or 1130 depending on the (Weather – we still land on the same day)  in the morning the the aircraft will fly back to Mt Hagen. We will tour the Kalam Tribes, villages, their getting in touch and spending enough time to photograph both  Kalam tribesmen (wearing the traditional outrageous ornaments as they do in the Goroka Festival, for example). client will meet a number of members of each tribe and be able to work with them , if possible in a breath-taking natural environment.  Kalam Guest House (BLD)

You will be welcomed by the Kalam Tribes and your tour starts with the tribes on the Cultural Tours of the remotest place in the border of the highlands and coastal region of PNG, Cultural dance welcome to the village, village study and experience, you will blend in with the daily chores in the Simbai region.

Visit of the different tribes, their traditional costumes worn and face painting , all cultural visit to each clan andf village life. All Kalam Tribes and Cultural tours and activities. We will gear up for the morning Charter flight from Mt Hagen/Simbai /Mt Hagen.

You will tranfered to your departure Lunch for the flight to Port Moresby and onward to your international departure or overnight in Port Moresby (BL)
