You will have a tour of the Urup Kiap Village, home of the MELPA TRIBES welcoming you to their world with both men and women traditional Singsing and Welcome.

After Urup Kiap, MelpaTribes Visit, you will be met and transferred to Kumul Lodge, one of the best-known landowner eco-tourism lodges in Papua New Guinea. Made out of local materials, entirely owned and managed by the local community and employing local guides, you can be sure that your money is helping to support the local community.

Your presence here helps to preserve the surrounding forest as a home for some of the most beautiful and unusual birds in the world. Your travels here are working to raise local environmental awareness and in time, hope that our ongoing efforts will lead to the area being declared a National Park.

Guided Nature Walk
Enjoy an afternoon guided nature walk along the forest orchid for a birding observation walk. This is the only bird lodge in New Guinea where Birds of Paradise are amongst the regulars at the lodge feeders, offering fantastic photo opportunities. Other regulars at the feeders include Brehm’s Tiger Parrot, Smoky Honeyeater, Belford’s Melidectes and Island Thrush. Chestnut Forest Rail is occasionally seen beneath the feeder while Crested Berrypecker and White-winged Robin are often seen nearby.

This evening, watch the bird feeding activity from the lodge grounds before dinner is served. KUMUL LODGE ( LD)

Village Tour
Setting off at 8 am this morning, enjoy a guided tour of the village nearby which provides a fascinating insight into a unique way of life still following a very traditional lifestyle.  Welcome Singsing and other tradional Cultural activities of the Kumul Valley will be displayed and demonstrated, We will have the Village Experience and tour of the Border of Western Highlands and Enga Province. Return to the lodge for lunch.This afternoon is at leisure. Take your time to walk along the many forest trails to see the stunning orchids and birdlife. And Have the best sightseeing at the Kumul Lodge. KUMUL LODGE ( D)

Setting off at 8 am this morning, enjoy a guided tour of the village/Habitat at Awi Tourism Centre  nearby which provides a fascinating insight into a unique way of life still following a very traditional lifestyle. Drive along the Highlands Highway from Mt Hagen to Chimbu province.

Have a stop at Mindima Village for the Welcome of the Skeleton Tribes Omo Masalai ) Have lunch at their Eco Lodge and continue to Kundiawa town, the capital of Chimbu province and we will continue to Sinesine to the Tabare Tribes.

You will meet the Tribal Chief at their Nintul Men’s Haus and also learn about the importance of Men’s Haus and continue to Bulage Gau tribes for the Women’s Initiations ceremony ( coming our the house into womenhood )

We will continue to Goroka , we will drive down to Water Bung and up the Daulop Summit and descend down to Goroka  overlooking Bena Valley. Arrive between 4pm – 5pm and rest for dinner. Pacific Gardens Hotel ( BLD)

This morning, you will depart at 8am to Korekoreto village. Drive out through the fertile Asaro Valley, past coffee plantations and vegetable gardens bursting with sweet potatoes, bananas, taro cassava and sugar cane.

Walk through the village as you start your path to Mt Gurupoka to see the ancient caves and have the tour of the MOKOMOKO Warriors Learn about the mythology associated with these caves whilst taking in incredible views of the valley below.

Return to the village where you will see the Asaro Mudmen Warriors perform their eerie war dance and see the Mokomoko warriors dance. Spend time in the village with the local people as they prepare and cook a meal in a traditional earth oven, called a ‘mumu.’ You will have the opportunity to taste their cooking and enjoy a snack with the local villagers. Afterwards, you will return to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will stroll around the Tumbuna Market for Soveniur Shopping with guides PACIFIC GARDENS HOTEL (BLD )

On the road again today, departing at 8 am as you head north towards the coastal town of Madang. The drive is approx. 314km and the road conditions are fairly good. Travel along the Okuk Highway passing through scenic landscapes as you wind your way to Kainantu town and we will visit the Kainantu Pottery. En route, you will have plenty of photo opportunities at Yonki Hydro Dam and Kassam Pass lookout

Cross down to Kassam Pass and descend into Markham Valley. Pass palm plantations at Ramu Gusap,  We will have pack lunch at the Gusap Ramu Valley,

We will continue to Madang on the Ramu grassland,  the scenery changes dramatically as you venture from the hinterland to reach the coastline..  We will arrive at Balek Sulphur Creek and you will visit the creek that is used as a medicicne for Sick and diseases on skin and it smells like a rotten egg. On arrival in Madang at approx. 4.30 pm, check into your hotel. MADANG HOTEL (BLD) This is a police Escort Transfers that PNG Highlands Adventures does ( Goroka – Madang )

Early after breakfast, you will have a tour to the Bilbil Village for Pottery and  for Welcome Singsing and also Island Relaxing about tours on the island , with Boat Transfers through small islands and lunch at Jais Aben Resort with Swminning and relaxing until around 4 pm

After lunch you will be on your way back to Madang, freshen up and visit he Madang Cultural Bureau and sightseeing Drive. (BLD)
